Software Tester

This role is based in Farnborough, Hamsphire. Candidates must be willing to commute to the office or relocate. i-neda will not consider any applications from candidates requiring work/visa sponsorship for the UK.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in Farnborough. Working alone or alongside a project team, you will be responsible for two key areas of testing. You will be assisting and supporting customers through the test process for getting them connected to our live betting and horse racing systems, as well as preparing for and testing updates to our products and offerings.

You will be working closely with developers to undertake manual systems testing, write test scripts and maintain and execute automated scripts. A large proportion of this role will involve customer and supplier liaison in order to ensure our customer's testing schedule runs smoothly, so you should be confident working on your own initiative and working in a customer facing position.

We also maintain customer Test Support documentation, and you will be expected to ensure that developers update this as necessary upon new releases, as well as creating and maintaining a Customer FAQ register.

Adhoc customer support may also be part of your responsibility.

The role has the potential to develop into either a Test Management or Project Management position dependent on the applicant's aptitude and skill set

Core Skills

It is essential that you posses the following skills in order to fulfil your role as Software Tester at i-neda:

  • Experience in testing web based products and websites against specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of testing Web Services
  • Ability to write test specifications, test plans and test documentation
  • Accurately estimate time required to test a given product or code release and working to agreed project timelines
  • Ability to compose detailed reports of testing outcome for the Project Manager
  • MySql Database operations including confident manipulation of data
  • Knowledge of basic commands in tools such as SSH, SCP, Unix, Toad, SoapUI
  • Confident in taking ownership of delegated tasks and engaging with the end client
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including management and customer relationship management
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Tenacity, ambition and drive to succeed in all tasks

Desirable Skills

Not everyone can fulfil every skill requirement. In conjunction with the above, the following would also be of great assistance in securing your position at i-neda.

  • UAT Testing alongside end-user
  • Have previously worked in a betting or horse racing environment
  • IT related certification
  • 2.1 or greater degree
